Yeh melody kise kehte hain?
This is not goin to be a long post, since I have yet to start studying for Digital Signal Processing tomorrow :P
Today happened to be unique coz today for the first time I went to college completely broke…honestly I wasn’t wearing a single penny on me. And incidentally today we had to take a metro ride back home since the cab driver had to reach somewhere early.
So obviously my friends ended up paying for everything, from my metro token, chocolate truffle pudding that we shared before I boarded a cycle rickshaw to take me home and of course the rickshaw fare…
Rajat stopped one rickshaw waala,
Me: “Chalna hai bhaiya, M…… MIG Flats?”
{Will u drop me to ….?}
RW: “Chalenge”
{Yes I will}
Me: “Kitne paise?”
{How much will you charge?}
RW: “Pandrah rupey”
{Fifteen rupees}
Doliya: “Bhaiya yeh toh aap zyaada bol rahe, ek hi savari hai, dus rupey lagte hain”
{You’re quoting more, there is only one person to take, ten rupees is fine.}
….
RW: “Accha na aapki na meri, barah rupey de dena”
{Ok, lets find middle ground, give me 12 rupees}
By now everyone ie. Doliya, Rajat and Swati were rummaging their wallets to find me 12 rupees change.
Doliya found a 10er but no one had 2 rupees.
Me: “Bhaiya do rupey nahi hain, do melody chalengi?”
{We don’t have 2 rupees, would two melody (toffees) do?}
…
I sat in the rickshaw with the 10er clutched in my hand, waved to my friends and that’s when the rickshaw waala asked me …
“Yeh melody kise kehte hain?” {What is this thing you call melody?}
I couldn’t help ‘lol’in my head as I replied “Bhaiya melody toffee hoti hai” {Melody is the name of a toffee}
